How can you tell if Sarah Palin is from Wasilla or Wetaskiwin?
The girl seems down-right Albertan. She is about as Canadian as you can get. She likes moosemeat, she owns a float plane, her husband works in the oil-patch, she hunts, and even as the head of government she drives her own car to work.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee, John McCain, likes free trade, while the Democratic Party nominee, Barak Obama, has made threatening noises to rip it up. (Go ahead, rip it up, along with the guarantee of supply, world price, and no fees. You buy Manhattan with beads once.)
As Alaska governor, Sarah Palin wants more drilling. The woman also has a very Albertan attitude toward oil companies, too, namely the state owns the resource, and oil companies just hold leases to extract the resource. She knows Canada. Her state has inked a deal with TransCanada Corp. for a [...]
Choosing someone to become Vice President of the United States has always been a difficult task to candidates because they are usually trying to attract a crowd that did not identify with the candidate for President. In this case, I am talking about John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin. I personally had heard about her only once in a small report on an oil spill in Alaska.
Sarah Palin is a very thrilling choice in my opinion. So far, no one has really guessed the reaction of the American electorate after her nomination. Soon we will be seeing several pools being published. I believe that Obama will be ahead of McCain in the beginning, but as far as we have seen, the Republicans have managed to have a much more consistent, interest-driven, and dirty campaign. No one can forget that just last year the Democrats were in a series of crises [...]
WOW!
I just read a Zogby survey that says…
McCain/Palin 47%
Obama/Biden 45%
Considering how much more media attention Obama has received compared to McCain, I find this amazing!

The online survey was conducted on August 29th through August 30th, 2008
In an exercise that will be beneficial to both me (emptying out my Google Reader’s “starred” items) and to you (a whole lot of stuntastic things from around the Internets), I’m bringing back an old segment that will be familiar to my oldest readers, “News I Find Interesting!” Here, I will be posting a long list of links and such that I’ve encountered that I found interesting, amusing, idiotic, titillating, or hilarious, but didn’t get around to sharing with you.
You may have already seen few, some, or all of the links below, but in any case I hope you will find an item or two of note that YOU will find interesting.
1. The New York City’s Department of Transportation has installed nine unique bike racks designed by David Byrne, yes of the Talking Heads fame, but did you know he is also a bike enthusiast? It is only temporary but [...]
While driving today, I caught a conservative talk radio show on a local channel in Upstate South Carolina. I didn’t catch the name of the host, but he was in the vein of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, but with a better sense of humor. A black guy named Vern called in and was questioning a statement the host made about blacks only voting for Obama because he was black and for no other reason. Vern took offense to that, saying that the black political conscience is more complicated than that. Vern said many black people were voting for Obama because they thought he was the best man for the job. And then, in obligatory form, the host rambled on about how Obama’s lack of experience makes him blatantly unfit to the lead the country.
Vern then counterattacked. He began his thought by, I think, beginning to point out that Republicans talk about Obama’s [...]
Here’s a story that’s filled with salacious gossip, secret pregnancies and unproven sources. In other words, perfect for FameCrawler! There’s a rumor surfacing that Sarah Palin’s fifth child Trig, who was born in April, is actually the child of Palin’s 16-year-old daughter Bristol. According to sources, Sarah Palin’s announcement in early March that she was seven months pregnant came as a shock to those that had worked closely with her, since she did displayed no signs of pregnancy whatsoever during the previous seven months. Here are a couple of other pieces to this story:
- Palin does not appear to be pregnant in any photos taken during her pregnancy. Sources point mainly to the photo below, which was taken of Palin when she would have been almost 7 months pregnant. ….read rest of story here…
The DNC is gathered in Denver, Colorado, to nominate Barack Obama their presidential
candidate. Nancy Pelosi said they met at a defining moment in history and praised Mr Obama’s
vision and values. The dems are hoping the event will show the Illinois senator’s personal side
and heal the rifts of the primary race.
A tribute to ailing Senator Edward Kennedy A speech by Mr Obama’s wife
will be among the tonights highlights. Some analysts are predicting some of Mrs Clinton’s
backers, angry that she was never seriously considered for the role, could try to upset the
party.
Will they?

While I was at the DNC I was working for The Talk Radio News Service.
The following is one of the assignments that I had.

On behalf of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid spoke in Denver Wednesday afternoon about the need to expand the Democratic majority in this year’s Senate elections. He introduced six candidates running for seats in the Senate this fall. Among them were former New Hampshire Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, Rep. Mark Udall (D-CO), Rep. Tom Udall (D-NM), Rep. Tom Allen (D-ME), Rep. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), and former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner.
The Democratic candidates are in close races for eleven Senate seats, and Sen. Reid was optimistic that the party will win the spots. Reid said, “The Democratic majority is slim…we know we need more numbers.”
Reid added that the Democrats are reaching for sixty seats, in order to prevent Republican [...]
Almost three years to the day hurricane Gustav will barrel ashore pummeling the Gulf coast states of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi. Like Katrina in 2005, New Orleans has once again been the focus of the news coverage — as the media stakes out the evacuated city, waiting for the worst to happen.
But this time things are different. The new Governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal is in control and has ordered a mass evacuation and 1,9 million listened. Unlike his predecessor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco - who waited and waited and waited and did nothing. Blanco’s actions were similar to that idiot mayor of New Orleans, Ray Nagin — who even got re-elected for his incompetence and impotency.
This time even Nagin got into the game by telling his citizens to “get your butts out of here.” That’s a lot better than calling New Orleans a “chocolate city”.
Even FEMA and Chertoff [...]
I don’t own a TV, so I will try to post interesting interviews, as they surface on the web, for others in the same boat.
The Democratic Duo’s first interview after Invesco Field speech and Palin for VP announcement.
